Keiko Eda was born and grew up in Yokohama, Japan. After graduating from a pharmacy school, she worked as a technical staff at a prestigious Japanese research institute, RIKEN. She moved to the U.S. in 1997 and stated working as a visiting research fellow/technical staff at the University of California Riverside. And in 2003, she moved to UT and worked as research assistant/laboratory coordinator for 11 years.
Besides the research experience, she has been working at a Japanese school in Maryville TN since 2008 teaching Japanese language, social science and mathematics. Also, she has taught Japanese to local English native speakers while working as a freelance English-Japanese translator.
She came back to UT as a part-time Lecturer (Japanese Language) in Fall 2019.
